The aim of the Trust is to improve the outlook of rural India, particularly in the fields of Health, Education, Employment (by skill upgradation), Human Development & Welfare, Women & Child Development, and Cattle Care. Following are some of the activities conducted by the Trust.

Health is Wealth

The Trust runs a Rural Health Centre where a full-time physician, Gynecologist and four paramedical staff along with lab technicians serves the patients. Investigations are done for patients and necessary treatment is given. Apart from providing Allopathic treatment, experts of Homeopathy and Ayurveda can also be consulted.Dental hospital services (since 2006) can be availed within the premises of the Trust. All patients received appropriate dental treatment and medicines for free of charge. Activities to impart Dental hygiene & awareness are conducted in the surrounding villages. An Eye Hospital in association with L.V. Prasad Eye Institute (Hyderabad), is run in the Campus at Nellore. On an average, twelve surgeries are performed here every day. Medicines are given for free for those who undergo operations.

Medical camps have been conducted every month for the last 18 years engaging specialist Doctors from renowned hospitals such as Global, Kamineni, Star, Rainbow, Medwin, Vijaya, and Care across Chennai, Hyderabad and other places. The Red Cross and Indian Medical Association (IMA) join the Trust in conducting medical camps at regular intervals.

In line with its objective to provide essential healthcare services to the poorer segments of rural society, the Trust set up a Rural Health Centre and Dental Hospital in association with Narayana Medical College and Dental Hospital, Nellore.

Key Outcome: 4,40,907 patients have received treatment at the Health Centre including patients treated at the Dental Hospital.

As part of its mission to serve the rural poor by providing quality healthcare services, the Swarna Bharat Eye Care Centre was set up in 2007 at Dr. B.V. Rao & Smt. Uttara Devi Memorial Health Centre in association with Venkateswara Hatcheries, represented by Dr. Anuradha J.Desai and LV Prasad Eye Institute of Hyderabad, an Eye Hospital in association is run in the Campus at Nellore. On an average, twelve surgeries are performed here every day. Medicines are given for free for those who undergo operations.

Key Outcome: 1,44,647 patients have received treatment so far. 20,102 surgeries have been conducted by the Centre. These include cataract, cornea transplantation, retina green laser and pterygium.

Skill Development & Employment

The Rural Self Employment Training Institutes (RSETI) was established to impart free Training to enhance self-employment opportunities to men and women in different technical Trades/ repair & servicing of Cell Phones, Television, Air-conditioners, Refrigerators, Motor Rewinding, Tailoring, Fashion design etc., including Computer Hardware & Software. All the trainees are provided free boarding & lodging facilities throughout the training period. The Trust in association with the GMR Varalakshmi Foundation and Union Bank, (formerly Andhra Bank) is making relentless efforts in the direction of rural empowerment by identifying self employment avenues and imparting suitable skills training to the needy. The Trust becomes the guarantor for the bank to give loans if the Trainees desire to be self employed.

Swarna Bharat – SOMA Institute of Technical Training: This is another significant initiative of the Swarna Bharat Trust. This institute is aimed at providing Technical Training and creating sustainable livelihood programs for the rural unemployed youth who are constrained by low income, inadequate skills, unemployment, and the absence of opportunities for training & development/ financial ability/ bargaining power at economic and social levels.

The infrastructure includes state-of-The Art Technical Training programs in Civil Construction, Mechanical, Electrical, Computer & Information Services and other commercial trades for providing sustainable livelihood opportunities for the aspirants. During the free training period, all the trainees are provided with free boarding & lodging facilities. It accommodates 300 trainees for ten Channels of different training programs, for each schedule.

Cyber Grameen: The objective of this initiative is to effectively utilize “Information Technology” in rural areas to herald a social change and economic advancement with support of Atul Nishar and Dr. BV Raju Foundation. Cyber Grameen provides information among other things viz., tele education, banking, insurance, medical services, video conferencing, digital theater, and agriculture related information & other services. Many rural youth have received training in courses such as DTP, MS Office, Web Designing, Tally C, C++ absolutely for free of cost. Students are also provided with free course material.

Swashakthi: Job oriented training is provided to rural youth under the joint social initiative of Swarna Bharat Trust, SEW Foundation and KL University. Swashakti is making focused efforts by providing job oriented training in the fields of IT, Hospitality, and Accounting, for free of cost - along with training in soft skills.

Women Welfare :

The Trust has established a Training Centre for Women who wish to be self employed. The Trust also has a modern auditorium with tele-education, tele-medicine, video conferencing, digital theatre facilities where, audio-visual educational programs on rural development, community development, health, cleanliness and other social programs are conducted. Farmer Welfare.

Farmer Welfare & Cattle Care

The Trust runs a training centre for the Farmers, which conducts programs on the usage of pesticides, nutrition, micro-irrigation, cultivation of new varieties of crops, medicinal plants, and implementing new technology in farming to enhance yield etc.

A free Veterinary Hospital is also run by the Trust which conducts camps for the benefit of Farmers on Artificial Insemination, vaccination, distribution of medicines etc. Services of Mobile Veterinary Medical Unit are also provided without any charge.

Other Welfare Activities :

Elders’ Home: Understanding the need to lend emotional support to the elders, Swarna Bharat Trust in association with Bollineni Foundation has established an Elders’ Home equipped with all facilities for elders. It is a home away from home, for the elders. Their health related issues are very well taken care of. Access to Television and a Library has been provided to the residents to cater to their entertainment & spiritual needs.

The Trust conducts an annual Prathibha Puraskar, (recognizing the rural meritorious Students) who secured 1st, 2nd ranks in the Class 10th Board Exams. They are also awarded with Merit Certificates & Bicycles.

The Trust also conducts “Awareness Camps” where residents of Villages get an opportunity to seek free consultation with Legal experts.

With the successful implementation of the activities of the Trust at Venkatachalam, Nellore - the need to extend similar activities across other locations was felt and led to the creation of Chapters at Vijayawada & Hyderabad, the Capital Cities of the two Telugu States.

Education

Bridge & Residential School: Under this initiative, the Trust educates the children who have stopped attending school due to various reasons and the issue of child labor in the nearby towns and villages is one of them. The Trust has established a Residential Bridge School within its campus. Every year about 100 children are receiving education with free accommodation and food, in Swarna Bharat Trust schools.

The Bridge School program identifies the school drop-outs. Educational awareness is provided to the parents of such children. Children between the ages of 8 – 14 are trained according to their levels of awareness on education. The Children of Swarna Bharat Bridge School are treated with such love & care by the Teachers that the Children continue their education at the Bridge & Residential School, without worrying thoughts about their home. Five Teachers, one Care-taker, one Mobilizer, and two Cooks take special care of these children throughout the day. The awards that Bridge school is bestowed with are the touchstones for its style of work and delivery. Some Children, upon completion of their education have continued to study further, including pursuing Engineering.

The Residential Bridge school established by Swarna Bharat Trust in association with Muppavarapu Foundation, admits children from 4 to 14 years with the aim of imparting value-based education to them. In doing so, the Bridge School prepares them for a bright future, especially since these children are either dropouts/ orphans abandoned by their families or were forced to work as child labourers. The Managing Trustee on behalf of the Trust has adopted six orphan girl children whose parents committed suicide. Earlier another boy aged 12 whose whereabouts were untraceable was also adopted in 2009. The Trust imparts education and training to at least 100 children per year, many of whom have had no formal education or have dropped out of school. Parents and grand parents of these children are counselled about the importance of education in the lives of their children. This bridging program has been of tremendous help to a large number of children who were denied education or were working as child labourers were abandoned by their families. The school provides the requisite academic support and necessary guidance to make these students academically competent to join the mainstream. This one-year bridge course is totally free. Children are provided food, books, uniforms and accommodation in the hostel for free.

Imparting value-based quality education is central to Swarna Bharat Trust’s guiding
principles. Driven by this need, Swarna Bharathi Vidya Mandir was set up in 2011
in a building donated by SEW Foundation.
Equipped with laboratories, playgrounds and modern teaching aids, the school
offers affordable quality education for a nominal fee. Holistic education is provided from LKG to class X to the children of small and marginal farmers and those drawn from lower middle class families living in and around Venkatachalam. Students of Swarna Bharathi Vidya Mandir are provided with a free midday meal, free books and free uniforms.

Empowering children through enlightenment is among the core principles of Swarna Bharat Trust and Driven by a desire to impart value based, holistic education, Akshara Vidyalaya was established in the year 2010 amidst 25 acres of green fields has a well designed
infrastructure. Akshara Vidyalaya is an initiative by the Trust is this national level CBSE school, where the Medium is English, Culture is Indian. It is established with a motive of providing quality education to the students coming from rural areas. The infrastructure created is of international standards, and the tuition fee is lower than the fee charged by corporate schools. amidst 25 acres of green fields has a well designed infrastructure of  lakh sft with spacious class rooms, labs, playgrounds, indoor and outdoor sports facilities, activity centre, hostel and staff quarters. The school maintains an ideal teacher student ratio of 1:15, follows CBSE curriculum and always strives to realize its motto of ‘Opening Minds’ .

Muppavapu Foundation building exists in Swarna Bharat Trust Campus.

The Foundation is taking part in various social service, training, education, health, medical and self employment training programmes and also participating in the activities taken up by Swarna Bharat Trust. Providing food facilities to the patients and their aides those who attend free medical and health camps run by Swarna Bharat Trust, study materials to the school going students, incentives to best performing students, prizes at animal shows etc. are a few activities the foundation so far rendered its selfless service.
